TRAINING AND PLACEMENT

The better trained you are, the more confident. And the more you’ll make a real difference in the community.

Four times a year – winter, spring, summer and fall – we offer our 30-hour health navigation training program at no charge. It consists of five days of instruction, expert presentations and group practice. You will learn how to be part of a health care team, what you need to know about all kinds of health insurance, how to develop trust with people you will be helping, where to find resources that support your client, how to teach what you know – all skills that will help you succeed.

In these fun training sessions, you’ll hear the stories of other volunteers who are doing amazing things to help others. And you’ll meet like-minded people who share your interest and spend the week learning together.

But even before your training starts, you will almost always know where you’ll be working once you’ve received your certificate of completion. Our staff works closely with you and our VOLUNTEER HOST SITES to make a successful match between your interests and the needs of people served at our host sites.
