HOMELESSNESS

Taking action against homelessness and helping those in need toward a brighter future.

Impact Area: Homelessness

Thousands of residents across the seven-county Denver Metro area have no place to live, including many who are newly homeless. These families and individuals in our communities are living in exposure and hunger. They are often unsafe and unable to meet their most basic needs. Over 20 percent of Denver’s homeless are under the age of 18. Boomers Leading Change sends trained volunteers to partner with organizations that help address their immediate needs as well as working with clients to move beyond poverty and homelessness.

Service Work Opportunity:

At The Action Center, Boomer volunteers serve residents of Jefferson County by providing an immediate response to their needs for food, clothing and shelter, while also providing pathways that can lead clients out of homelessness and poverty toward self-sufficiency. In 2016 the Action Center served over 28,000 people.
