Boomers Leading Change
Volunteer Information Session
by Lynette Reiling, Volunteer Manager
10 a.m., Wednesday, June 17 | BLC Zoom Studio | Information regarding BLC programs, volunteer opportunities
Seventeen weeks and counting…… Are you having coffee with your cat?…..Doing yoga with your dog? Boomers Leading Change (BLC) can help remedy that!
BLC is an organization that mobilizes, connects and empowers people age 50+. The organization has designed some creative ways to keep people connected and engaged during COVID quarantine. Opera lovers enjoyed 2 Friday evening performances followed by discussion (virtual of course!). Readers are enjoying a book club complete with options for a fiction or non-fiction read. Facebook friends are having fun with mini-drawing sessions compliments of artist Damon McCleese.
Folks continue to enjoy coming together virtually through Coffee, Tea and BLC to talk about issues from zany unusual jobs ranging from fortune cookie writer, mermaid and golf ball diver. We also discuss lifestyle and personality issues including the impact of your birth order and its effects on how we function in life or whether you are an early morning person most productive in the early hours of the day or a dedicated night owl preferring to work in the evening. Some BLC volunteers have even rolled up their sleeves and found ways to support local nonprofits remotely.
There is much more on the horizon: job search strategies, Scamming among older adults, Financial concerns for older adults, and of course, some fun opportunities sprinkled in there as well. Want to learn more about Boomers Leading Change and all we have to offer?
Join us for a remote information session Wednesday, June 17 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
