This Advocacy Academy  will include information about the current reality of oil and gas development and fracking in Colorado. Lisa Trope of Food & Water Watch will discuss current oil and gas development in Colorado, what the current regulations are, and what are the most recent developments in communities trying to protect themselves from development. Lisa will also discuss Food & Water Watch Colorado’s campaign and state bill to move Colorado to 100% clean energy by 2035 and how audience members can engage in meaningful ways on this campaign. An advocacy skill new to Boomers Leading Change academy will include how to power map an elected official to be able to have the biggest and most strategic impact possibly on any issue that audience members are passionate about.

* Through strategic organizing we can move Colorado towards a clean energy future now.

* We can and will have more of an impact on incredibly important issues, like access to clean air and water, and combatting climate change locally. We will be introducing legislation in 2018 that works to commit Colorado to moving to 100% clean energy by 2035!
